Parcel Web Express delivers on data quality
Boutique online courier service Parcel Web Express is using data quality to provide enhanced customer service and achieve a competitive advantage. Established in December 2010, the company has identified inaccurate addressing and poor address entry as key service issues in a highly competitive sector.
Paul Foster, operations manager at Parcel Web Express, says: “Even today, many couriers still use carbon copy paper to manually write the required delivery address label. Using this method, spelling mistakes, illegible writing or using postcodes which don’t correspond to the remainder of the address can cause huge problems, such as delayed delivery or worse, parcels being lost.”
The business has integrated an online international address look-up system into its web site. This allows customers to use just the postcode to enter delivery details, minimising the risk of inaccuracies in address labels.
“When we set up the business, we wanted to ensure that we hit the ground running, and therefore needed to provide the very best service and online ease of use, as this is one of our key business foundations and points we pride ourselves on and give to all customers 24/7,” says Foster. “Offering quality customer service therefore had to include quick and easy address look-up and data entry to help avoid the common problems of carbon copy courier methods, also making the customers’ experience in using our website an efficient, quick and memorable one.”
