John Ayling & Associates has been appointed to handle the £2m media planning and buying business for Eaglemoss Publishing Group without a pitch.

It is understood the agency has worked with the partworks publisher for several years on a project basis but will now handle the business permanently.

In the past Eaglemoss’s media was handled by BrandConnection and was moved into Initiative after the former was closed down. It is not clear if Initiative has been working with the company over recent months.

Eaglemoss has published special interest partworks magazines for about 20 years. Its magazines are available in most English-speaking markets as well as France, Poland and Hungary. It creates between two and five new publications per year, each one building into a comprehensive reference work. Recent national launches have included “The Super Hero Collection” and “Build a model solar system”.

Eaglemoss also has a book department, which packages continuity series and books derived from its archive of partwork material, and sells them to publishers around the world.

Eaglemoss was acquired by French publishing group Aurenis Publishing for £16m in February 2007.
