Pernod Ricard restructures marketing team

Pernod Ricard UK has cut 36 sales, marketing and communications roles and replaced the marketing chief of its wine division in a restructure.

Jacob's Creek

The drinks marker, owner of Absolut Vodka, Chivas Regal and Jameson, says it has completed the reorganisation of its sales, marketing and communications teams, with number of roles reduced by 36.

It adds “redundancies were mitigated through natural attrition and a recruitment freeze”, adding that “14 employees did not secure alternative roles within the business”.

The move comes as the company announces that its wine sales and marketing director, Nick Blair is moving to Pernod Ricard Pacific as global communications director.

He will be replaced by Simon Thomas, currently deputy managing director of spirits, in the newly created role of deputy managing director.

Pernod Ricard wine brands include Jacob’s Creek, Montana and Perrier-Jouët

Separately, Simon van Moppes has been appointed commercial director for spirits.
