Personal wins headteacher career push

The government is planning a new programme to encourage potential headteachers in their career progression.

Personal, the brand response agency, has been appointed by the COI, on behalf of the National College for School Leadership (NCSL) to develop a contact programme that will include onand offline newsletters and email alerts.

The agency won the business after a four-way pitch against Kitcatt Nohr Alexander Shaw, Watson Phillips Norman and Chemistry.

The NCSL programme is designed to deliver assistance and information to graduates of the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) at key stages throughout the year.

Information given to NPQH graduates will include advice on interview techniqes and testimonials from existing headteachers in an effort to find, develop and retain headteachers for schools in England.

Chris Ward, managing partner at Personal, comments: “Education is contantly under the political and social spotlight, and recruiting headteachers is fundamental to the success of so many educational reforms.”
