Peugeot puts £7m account up for review

Peugeot Motor Company has started reviewing its £7m car dealership advertising account held by McCann- Erickson Manchester.

Peugeot Motor Company has started reviewing its £7m car dealership advertising account held by McCann- Erickson Manchester.

The review, which is being handled by the AAR (Advertising Agency Register), is part of a standard internal procedure and McCann has been invited to repitch.

The work up for grabs is regional advertising supporting the dealers. It does not affect any of the accounts held by EURO RSCG Wnek Gos-per. Media planning and buying at a regional level will remain with Universal McCann.

Jean-Martin Folz, the new head of the combined Peugeot-Citroën group, has been restructuring manufacturing and purchasing operations within the company. The restructure appears to have eroded the autonomy of Peugeot UK and Richard Parham, managing director, resigned recently as a result. However, UK marketing has so far survived unscathed.
