The move by the global shampoo to nappies firm is part of it’s ongoing ‘Thankyou Mum’ campaign activity. It says the money will be used to build on $6m (£3.8m) investment already made in establishing and sustaining youth sport activities internationally.
It says the money already raised, which has exceeded the original $5m (£3.2m) target, has been used to buy school equipment, support youth funds and scholarships and provide access to summer sports camps in 48 countries on every continent across the world.
It aims to extend the programme to over 200 countries over the course of its ten year programme.
The company, whose brands include Pampers, Gillette and Pantene, announced the investment yesterday (9 August) flanked by international olympians already signed to front the campaign, including British marathon runner Paula Radcliffe and Team GB bronze medallist high-jumper Robbie Grabarz.
