Unilever has appointed Phd to handle its 100m (66.7m) planning and buying account in central and eastern Europe.

Unilever has appointed Phd to handle its €100m (£66.7m) planning and buying account in central and eastern Europe. The agency will take over the business from Initiative Media in January next year.

Phd will handle the business across countries including Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Latvia and the Slovak Republic. MindShare has retained the business in Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia and Serbia.

Initiative will continue to work with the packaged goods giant in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, which were not part of the review.

Unilever media director for central and eastern Europe Hanna Huntova, who oversaw the process, says: “We’ve now reviewed media planning and buying across the whole of central and eastern Europe, and believe that we have the most appropriate team in place to suit the needs of the business.”
