Pizza Hut ‘names’ Paddy McGuinness as chief customer officer
Pizza Hut has launched the first in a series spoof of online videos starring comedian Paddy McGuinness with the initial execution showing him appointed as ‘chief customer officer’, reflecting its more digitally focused marketing strategy.
The restaurant chain has adopted the comedian as its brand advocate to help “inject some fun and passion” into the brand, with the series of sketches shot in a reality TV style and McGuinness’ character seemingly based on The Office’s David Brent.
The ads are set to run for the next year and are geared towards highlighting Pizza Hut’s ongoing investment in improving its customer experience in-store.
The brand has chosen to make online executions the focus of the current campaign, as opposed to booking more traditional TV slots, following customer research.
