Pizzino unveils Hint water

A new, premium-flavoured water brand called Hint, which boasts zero calories and sweeteners, will launch in the UK soft drinks market this month.

The roll-out of Hint, already well-known in the US, is being managed in the UK by Pizzino, the marketing and distribution firm which launched healthy cola drink Cricket Cola earlier this year (MW August 10).

Hint is pure water, infused with natural flavours containing no artificial additives or preservatives. It is available in eight flavours, including Tangerine, Lime, Cucumber, Pomegranate-Tangerine and Peppermint.

Pizzino is in negotiations to have the drinks listed in stores including Harrods, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, Waitrose and Fresh & Wild. The product, which uses the strapline “Drink water, not sugar” in the US, is likely to retail at between 1.35 and 1.65 per single-serve bottle.

Hint is aimed at consumers concerned with diet and health issues, and has become associated with celebrities in the US. The drink has featured on television shows including Grey’s Anatomy, The OC and CSI, and was included in gift bags for guests at last year’s Oscars ceremony.

Cricket Cola, made with a blend of kola nuts and fresh green tea, is sold in Harvey Nichols and restaurant Zuma. Each bottle is brewed with two cups of fresh green tea, rather than chemically formed caffeine, and is sweetened with pure cane sugar and Splenda for Diet Cricket.
