There’s nothing better than a pleasant surprise to leave your head spinning, as BBH proved last week when it hosted a festive drinks party.

There had been murmurings about the event, which, at first flush, seemed to offer the relatively unglamorous charms of a few pints down the pub.

However, when the unsuspecting guests arrived at the Blue Posts – opposite the agency’s offices in Kingly Street – their misgivings proved unfounded.

The entire pub had been redecorated to resemble Narnia rather than a London boozer, rivers of Champagne flowed and there were lashings of pie and mash. There was even a guest appearance from Rugby World Cup winner Will Greenwood.

The effect certainly left the Diary zagging, while others were definitely zigged.
