Arnold will be responsible for marketing brands including McDougalls, Angel Delight and Bird’s as well as Sharwood’s, Bisto. He will report to Mat Baker, director of foodservice and ingredients.

Premier is also looking to recruit several brand leaders in an effort to become “the best marketing team in foodservice”.

Arnold joins Premier from Procter & Gamble, where he led the professional marketing and service team in the UK.

Baker says: Arnold’s appointment comes from a “need to ensure we have the key people and necessary skills in place to drive the business forward in the future.”

Recent campaigns by Premier Foods include a £5m television advertising campaign to support its conversion to 100% British wheat and cake brand Lyons is launching a new range of Teashop Classic Cakes.
