Premium TV appoints head of marketing

Premium TV, the sports media division of NTL, has appointed Nigel Blower as head of marketing. He replaces Kenny Boyle, who is leaving to head the international marketing team at the British Tourist Authority (MW January 30).

A former head of database marketing for BT Cellnet (now known as O2), Blower was most recently a consultant for Chordiant Software. He has also worked as a marketing consultant with T-Mobile, BT and Telenor Mobil, where he helped introduce customer relationship management strategies. In 1996, he moved to the agency side and set up a new media division for sales promotion agency Triangle Communications. Before this, he worked at Rothmans UK.

A wholly owned subsidiary of NTL, Premium TV was set up in 2001 with the aim of bringing together TV and internet operations. It operates a network of 80 official football club websites in the UK and owns the digital rights to the audio and video content for all the Football League clubs, except Coventry City, and some Premiership clubs, including Newcastle United. It also owns stakes in Middlesbrough FC and Leicester City FC.

Premium TV has also appointed Stuart Ritchie as product marketing manager as part of its plan to expand its marketing team.
