Profero wins account for BBC shopping site

Beeb.com, the BBC’s e-commerce website, has appointed Profero, a leading full-service interactive advertising agency.

The account win gives Profero preferred status for all Beeb.com online ad campaigns, starting this week with a “Robbie the reindeer” Christmas campaign. Beeb.com ads will be placed on sites such as AskJeeves.co.uk, BTopenworld.com, Excite.co.uk and Lastminute.com.

Profero will handle six different creative themes for this campaign, as well as media buying, and is working closely with Carlson, Beeb.com’s offline marketing agency. Profero’s brief is to maximise site visits and registrations prior to Christmas.

Beeb.com marketing director Regan Hook says: “The campaign evokes Beeb.com’s brand values. With its clean graphic approach and understanding of online consumers, Profero has shown it is focused on the fact that this is a shopping site.”

Profero client services and media director Eamonn Store says the win bears out his belief that “the best online campaigns require creative, technology and media concepts to work in harmony”under one roof.
