Publicis nets 2m Scholl youth drive
Publicis has won the 2m Scholl Consumer Products UK account with a brief to create a younger, more modern image for the brand.
The agency won the account in a three-way pitch against Saatchi & Saatchi and Grey Advertising. The account was formerly held by Woollams Moira Gaskin O’Malley until the agency was wound up in August last year.
Scholl, which manufactures products such as foot spray, odour attackers and rough skin remover, is relaunching with uniform packaging worldwide.
UK marketing manager Ian Kirsch says there is a lack of awareness about the Scholl brand. An advertising campaign, planned for the summer, will hopefully raise the profile and bring the brand “more up to date”, he says.
Scholl’s relaunch has been put on hold after last year’s unsuccessful bid by rebel shareholders to replace non-executive directors and break up the company (MW September 29 1995). The company is also seeking an international marketing director.
BMP Solutions in Media Group will still handle the Scholl media account.
