Publicis has won the £10m advertising business for Slendertone, the electronic body toning system. It is understood to have pitched against Dye Holloway Murray, Engine Group and an undisclosed agency to win the account.
Publicis is now working on a campaign for the brand that will run across TV and online. It is expected to break later this year.
It is not known if the brand previously had a retained agency or if it has been working with a number of different agencies on a project basis. In 2003, it signed up sport personalities Kirsty Gallacher and Jamie Redknapp to front a campaign after dropping Ulrika Jonsson.
Mustoes Merriman Levy was appointed to handled the brand’s £6m advertising business in 2002. It beat Soul, DFGW, Abbott Mead Vickers.BBDO and Kemistry to win the business. The incumbent Lowe Live did not repitch.
The agency developed the celebrity-led campaign and supported it through direct mail work focused around New Year.
