Carex campaign

The British soap and shampoo manufacturer of brands such as Imperial Leather and Carex says it achieved pre-tax profits of £88.8m for the year to the end of May.

It says its UK “brand renovation” program and “local brands for local markets” strategy has underpinned its success. “Our strategy has enabled us to tailor our product offering appropriately in each territory to suit the local economic conditions,” says chairman Anthony Green.

The firm, which celebrated its 125th year last year, has moved swiftly to capitalise on demand for hand hygiene products amidst the swine flu epidemic.

It recently ran a TBWA Manchester created ad for its Carex hand soap brand which adapted the NHS campaign strapline “Catch it. Bin it. Kill it” to “Caught it? Binned it? Now kill it with Carex.”
