PZ Cussons reports strong results

PZ Cussons, the owner of brands including Imperial Leather and Carex, has reported strong trading in the period 1 June to 4 October with performance in line with expectations.

Profits at the company are ahead of the same period last year putting the company in strong financial position.

The British soap and shampoo manufacturer has continued a strategy of localised brand renovation and says its UK business was boosted by new product development targeted directly at UK consumers.

“Overall, we remain cautiously optimistic for the full year outturn despite the global economic picture remaining uncertain.”

In the wake of the Swine Flu outbreak earlier this year, the company’s hand wash brand Carex launched a press campaign using the strapline “Caught it? Binned it? Now kill it with Carex” inspired by the NHS campaign strapline “Catch it. Bin it. Kill it.”

The company operates predominantly in the UK, Nigeria, Australia, and Indonesia

PZ Cussons also owns the Charles Worthington, Morning Fresh and The Sanctuary brands.
