QPR FC seeks Euro sponsors in brand repositioning move

Queens%20Park%20Rangers%20FCQueens Park Rangers Football Club is seeking large, European backers as part of a restructure of its sponsorship strategy. The move is part of a wider repositioning by new owners Flavio Briatore and Bernie Ecclestone.

The club’s existing deals with Car Giant, Le Coq Sportif and Sellotape all ended with the final game of the Championship season last weekend. Sellotape will continue to have a relationship with the club by supporting QPR’s community scheme.

Chairman Flavio Briatore, who took control of QPR last November, also unveiled a new club crest for the West London team. The redesigned crest is intended to herald a new era for Queens Park Rangers, as it attempts to put its troubled past behind it.

QPR’s new owners are hoping to attract European sponsors to generate greater income.

At the end of March, the club announced it had signed a five-year deal worth £20m with Italian firm Lotto Sport Italia as kit manufacturer. The deal is one of the most lucrative in Championship history.
