Quorn axes marketing chief role

Premier Foods-owned Quorn has axed the role of its marketing director, following a restructure of the company.

The decision comes after last month’s announcement that Quoin marketing director Guy Longworth is leaving the company to emigrate to the US.

His role will be absorbed into the marketing structure of Premier Foods, which acquired Quoin-owner Marlow Foods last June.

Quoin marketing manager Michael Cohen is also leaving the group at the end of this month, to become marketing director at Dairy Farmers of Great Britain. He is also unlikely to be replaced.

Industry insiders close to Premier Foods say the company will allocate the roles elsewhere. Premier Foods declined to comment, but it was understood that Premier Foods foresaw limited integration with Marlow and planned to let it continue as a separate operation.

Premier Foods paid &£172m for Marlow Foods with the intention of making Quoin its biggest branded range.
