RAB announces new chairman as the start of relaunch
Martina King, the former Yahoo! European managing director, has been named as chairman of the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB).
King will also become a non-executive director of RadioCentre, the umbrella organisation for the RAB, Commercial Radio Companies Association, Digital Radio Development Bureau and chart company Hit 40 UK.
King replaces Derek Morris, who has stepped down, and will report to RadioCentre chief executive Andrew Harrison. Her appointment marks the beginning of a relaunch of the RAB.
She has been tasked with helping radio advertising recover from falling revenues, down 5% in 2006 on the previous year. King was appointed managing director of Yahoo! UK & Ireland in 1999, before heading its European operations. She left the internet portal in 2004. Previously, she headed Capital Radio and has worked at ITV in-house sales agency TSMS, The Observer and The Guardian.
