Reading Room takes on Skoda digital duties

The Reading Room, the digital communications agency, has won the digital account for Skoda following a pitch against undisclosed agencies. The agency will develop a new website for Skoda, which is owned by Volkswagen Group, and will integrate its “Manufacturer of Happy Drivers” brand positioning.

It also aims to put the internet at “the heart of Skoda’s marketing plans”. The Reading Room will develop the website’s technical capabilities by implementing the content management system as well as the design.

It is not known whether Skoda previously had a retained agency for its digital account, although it is thought lead below-the-line agency Archibald Ingall Stretton has previously handled digital projects. The agency will continue to handle Skoda’s direct marketing account, Fallon handles the car marque’s advertising.
