Return of the PR has-beens?

The PR consultancy Hill & Knowlton UK has happily announced the first internal successor to the chief executive’s throne with the appointment of David McLaren.

The PR consultancy Hill & Knowlton UK has happily announced the first internal successor to the chief executive’s throne with the appointment of David McLaren.

McLaren takes over from Antony Snow at the end of the year and has taken the opportunity to announce “a new management team in charge of the London office”.

Or has he?

By the time the Diary had read to the end of the announcement, McLaren seemed to have changed his mind with: “This is not a new management team – it is the team that has been responsible for our success in recent years.”

Hmm. Let’s hope Edward Bickham, Karen Moyse, Marie-Louise Windeler and Andy Laurence, the team in question, know whether they are in fact New Knowlton or Over the Hill.
