Rhidian Taylor to leave UK to go Stateside for Barclaycard
Rhidian Taylor, head of brand strategy at Barclaycard, is to leave the global marketing team of the payment services company.
Taylor, a Marketing Week Rising Star in 2006, is to become head of brand management and insights for the brand in the US.
Barclaycard has been looking to move away from being seen as a credit card by focusing recent marketing on music sponsorship and payment solutions and services – such as Barclaycard Freedom.
Gary Twelvetree, global brand director at Barclaycard, says Taylor helped “shape its brand image” into a payment services provider.
The US is a big growth area for Barclaycard, having expanded more than 50% since 2008. Taylor wants to “drive growth”, he says.
Barclaycard recently appointed former InterContinental Hotel Group marketer Nina Bibby as global chief marketing officer.
