Rubicon juices marketer promoted to md

Exotic juice drinks company Rubicon Products has promoted sales and marketing director Sheila Tarring to managing director.

Tarring’s former responsibilities will now be divided between the newly created positions of head of marketing and head of sales.

Barbara Down, formerly marketing manager with Coty Beauty, now becomes head of marketing, while John Langton, previously sales director at PJ moothies, has been appointed as head of sales.

Tarring has been with Rubicon Products for 15 years, having previously held marketing roles at drinks company Mandora St Clements, until it was bought by AG Barr in 1988.

She has also worked at Wella and on new product development for Cussons.

The company, which has no recorded advertising spend for the past 12 months, will sponsor the Kiss 100 FM drive-time show for 22 weeks from May 3 and Channel 4’s Pop Idol-style show Bollywood Stars, which starts on June 1.

Rubicon targets the Asian and Afro-Caribbean communities with drinks made from exotic fruits. Flavours are available as stills or carbonates and include mango, guava, passion fruit and lychee.

Rubicon makes its drinks at a plant in Wales and was founded in 1982 by chairman Naresh Nagrecha and research and development director Vish Vekaria, who were previously joint mds.
