Saatchi’s Daley takes role at Man U

Lee Daley, the chair and chief executive of Saatchi & Saatchi London is leaving the agency to be group commercial director of Manchester United Football Club and will sit on the board and oversee all of the club’s commercial plans. Speculation about the Saatchi chief’s departure has rumbled since late last year, after it emerged that several leading advertising industry figures have been approached about a senior role at the agency. He starts his new role at the football club in midApril.

Daley joined Saatchi & Saatchi in October 2004. He is a former global chief executive of WPP Group’s Red Cell network and replaced Kevin Dundas at the helm of Saatchi & Saatchi in London.

Martin George, former commercial director at British Airways was previously linked to the Man U role.
