Schweppes is launching a new range of bottled sparkling spring water drinks in an attempt to target a more adult market.
The launch of Schweppes Sparkling, made with fruit juice in orange and lemon, blackcurrant, and cloudy lemon flavours, will be accompanied by TV advertising through Saatchi & Saatchi. The ads, which carry the strapline “Think before you drink”, will roll out in the UK from mid-June.
The move coincides with a 10m company-wide relaunch of the Sch-weppes brand designed to streng-then its position in the young adult market. Schweppes, which claims it is the second largest non-cola carbonates brand in Britain, revamped Dr Pepper last year.
Robin Chatterton, Schweppes’ marketing director for Great Britain, Ireland and The Netherlands, says the relaunch also includes new packaging and a redesigned logo on all Schweppes products.
A version of the Saatchi ad will be rolled out in Europe from next week and will focus on the entire relaunch rather than the new brand.
