At the same time, the company has confirmed the appointment of Courage group executive for marketing John Nicolson as its overall marketing director, as exclusively revealed in Marketing Week (MWAugust 8). He will work from the Edinburgh office.

In the new structure, Courage’s trading director Graham Kendrick becomes trading director (south), while S&N’s managing director for Scottish Brewers Collin Wood becomes trading director (north).

Robin Alexander, managing director of William Younger since 1993, will become managing director of Scottish Courage Take Home division. All directors will report into Guy Dickson, chairman and managing director of Scottish Courage.

But former Scottish & Newcastle marketing director Richard Gibb will work outside the Scottish Courage organisation, and has taken on the job of director of corporate affairs for Scottish & Newcastle plc. His position is not a board appointment.
