SDL consolidates group branding

SDL, provider of global information management solutions, has consolidated its branding in an effort to unify the brand’s subsidiaries.

The company has made a series of strategic acquisitions and research and development investment to expand its technology footprint.

Now, to signal SDL’s end-to-end platform for managing the content lifecycle, the company is launching a new consolidated brand. It will see all business units in SDL, including SDL Tridion, SDL XySoft and SDL TRADOS Technologies, SDL Enterprise Technologies and SDL Language Services, referred to as divisions of SDL in a move to unify the SDL brand.

The different business units of SDL will become one of five specializsd divisions:
structured content technologies, web content management solutions, eCommerce technologies, language technologies and language services

SDL says it hopes its new branding will help to strengthening its market-leading position and unified vision reflected in the brand. It wants to express that SDL is one consolidated company with one single goal and mission.

The vision of the consolidated divisions is identical – SDL provides increased business agility to enterprises by accelerating the delivery of products and content to global markets in their local language. As a group, SDL is the only vendor providing an end-to-end solution for multilingual content through a well-integrated product suite.

Mark Lancaster, chief executive and chairman of SDL, says: “This is an important move for SDL in ensuring that we provide one unified and consistent message to the market. This does not change who SDL’s customers talk to in the different divisions, nor does it change our products or goals. This re-naming of the different divisions as part of SDL only affects the way we refer to the different solutions we provide. “
