It is not known if Brent, who has held the post for a year, has a job to go to.

Brent is a former Boots marketer and held the position of group brand director when he left. Before he joined BSkyB he acted as an advisor for the Government’s Change4life pitch.

Under his tenure at BSkyB the advertising agency Mother was appointed to the broadcaster’s ad agency roster to work on a long term banding strategy.

At BSkyB he oversaw a team that included head of brand marketing Robert Tansey, former John Lewis marketer Christian Cull and former Orange marketer Alex Lewis, who handles marketing for Sky Networks. Cull has since joined TUI Travel and Lewis is set to join News International’s The Times as marketing director

Sister company News International recently parted company with its chief marketing officer Jeremy Schwartz after less than a year.
