Sky to relaunch broadband service with ads from Engine
Sky Broadband has appointed Engine to handle its national relaunch activity, following a competitive pitch.
The satellite broadcaster is looking to add more customers onto its broadband service, in a bid to compete more with its main rivals BT and Virgin Media.
Sky will focus on a more “simplified” service in its new ad scheme, which will begin later this summer. Its relaunch campaign will consist of TV, digital, outdoor, press and radio activity.
The move comes as BT Group’s Plusnet broadband service also looks to kick start a national launch. The internet service provider has appointed Karmarama to help it grow from a regional service to a national service.
Sky currently has around 2.5 million of its customers signed up to Sky Broadband. The company’s marketing spend is on course to hit £1bn this year as the pay-TV company looks to build on a 76% bump in take up of its high definition television service.
The pay-TV company reported pre-tax profit increased to £707m in the last three quarters, up from £339m in the same period a year earlier, with its subscriber base nearing 10 million.
