SMG predicts a mixed-fortune future

Media group SMG has predicted its television airtime revenues to fall by 7% in the first half to June but says its Virgin Radio business will outperform the market. The television and radio broadcaster says revenues have grown by 8% on its Virgin Radio business.

Pearl & Dean has seen strong revenue growth of 7%, outperforming its 5% growth in screens while Primesight’s revenues have increased by 8%, the company said today in an annual general meeting statement. It says it is “cautiously optimistic” about the advertising markets for the rest of the year.

The company will announce further details of the turnaround plan for the business by the end of June.
