Southern trains appoints new marketing chief
Southern, the train operator, has recruited former Travelodge and easyJet marketer Alistair Buckle to be head of marketing.
Buckle left his role as BAA head of CRM
and new product development last year after a restructure following the takeover of BAA by Spanish company Ferrovial. He is a former Travelodge director of brand marketing and easyJet head of marketing.
He takes up a role at Southern that has been held by interim for some time.
The train operator launched a brand campaign featuring a Mexican wrestler, Loco Toledo,and created by VCCP last year. It appointed VCCP to handle its advertising in August.
Southern is owned by Govia and runs train services between London and the South East coast – through South London, Surrey, East and West Sussex, and to parts of Kent and Hampshire.
