Shepherd Neame has launched the first television campaign for its Spitfire ale brand to star brand ambassadors Alexander Armstrong and Ben Miller.

The spot, created by Libertine, shows the comedy duo playing the RAF characters speaking in their characteristic street slang with clipped tones as seen in their BBC sketch show.

Spitfire brand manager Kate Maclean says: “We are very excited to have Alexander and Ben’s RAF pilots as our ambassadors. Spitfire has always been associated with a very British sense of humour, and the characters are a wonderful follow-on to the previous campaign.”

An earlier ad was refused permission to be broadcast after the body that clears spots for air slammed it for being offensive to Polish people.
