Sponsor gurus step forward…

It has been most entertaining to read the battle of the gurus in Marketing Week’s letters page. The war of words between Richard Busby (self-proclaimed research guru) and Julian Bray (self-proclaimed agency guru) seems to have descended into personal insult.

However, what is more bizarre is the fact that no one else has joined the fray to argue that sponsorship is – or is not – worth the money.

Now I won’t pretend to know the answer as it is not my area of expertise, but where are all the self-proclaimed sponsorship gurus?
