St Austell Brewery has handed Devon-based agency, Bray Leino its £2m advertising account. It is understood that it has won the business without a pitch.

The agency is currently working on a campaign to promote the brewer’s premium real ale brand, Tribute (left), which will launch in October.

The activity will concentrate on the south west of Britain and will include sponsorship of over 157 rugby teams as well as press and outdoor advertising. It will use the strapline “Tribute – You’ve earned it”.

This is the first appointment of a retained advertising agency for the independent family-owned brewery. Its previous marketing activity has been handled on a project basis.
