Starbucks names new UK chief marketer

Starbucks has named Ian Cranna as its new UK marketing chief following the promotion of incumbent Brian Waring to an international role.


Cranna was promoted from his role as director of blended beverages at Starbucks and has taken over the vice-president of marketing for Starbucks UK. He will take on responsibility for Starbucks UK marketing,category, innovation and branding.

Waring, who joined Starbucks in 2004 as head of marketing, will move to the EMEA region as vice president of marketing with a broader international remit.

He has overseen the brand’s logo change in the UK and the roll out of new store designs and menus as well as digital innovations such as the recent launch of mobile payments via iPhone app and a partnership with Apple to give away free downloads to customers.
