Sunday Telegraph plans magazine launch

The Sunday Telegraph is planning to launch a new magazine called ST Fashion this autumn in a bid to combat flagging year-on-year sales of its Sunday edition.

It is understood to be considering whether to run ST Fashion as a standalone title or as a replacement for Stella, its weekly fashion and beauty women’s magazine, which it launched in 2005.

Katie Vanneck, marketing director of Telegraph Media Group, says ST Fashion will be a “luxury, high-end” publication.

A media industry source says that Stella has performed well and adds that it has helped the paper minimise its year-on-year decline in circulation.

The latest Audit Bureau of Circulation figures show the Sunday Telegraph’s circulation rose 1.19% between January and February this year to 667,693 but its year-on-year circulation fell by 2.35%.
