Swan Hellenic reviews £2m ad business

P&O’s upmarket cruise company, Swan Hellenic, is reviewing its £2m advertising business, which is currently with Team Saatchi.

The company is talking to a number of undisclosed agencies, including the incumbent, about handling the business.

The move follows last month’s appointment of Miles Calcraft to handle the P&O-branded cruises.

P&O Cruises sales and marketing director Carol Marlow says: “We are considering changing our agency. We are talking to various agencies including Team Saatchi.”

The review is being handled by Marlow’s colleague Carolanne Dielemann, who is sales and marketing director of Swan Hellenic.

Swan Hellenic is a specialist four-star cruise company, operating ships that carry fewer passengers than P&O’s other brands. Its advertising, which is normally press, targets AB holidaymakers.

Its destinations include the Mediterranean, the Baltic, the Black and Red seas, the Persian Gulf, India and the Far East. It also operates river cruises on the Rhine, the Danube and the Rhône. Its expedition cruises are from the Caribbean, Brazil and the Amazon.

Swan Hellenic’s media, handled by Booth Lockett Makin, is not thought to be affected by this review.
