T-Mobile MD quits

tmobileT-Mobile managing director, Jim Hyde, has resigned from his post and will leave the company at the end of March. The mobile operator is now undertaking a recruitment process to find his successor.

In a statement, T-Mobile says Hyde is departing for “personal reasons”.

Hyde joined the mobile operator in January 2006 from T-Mobile USA, where he held a number of management positions including vice president of sales and operations.

He has worked for T-Mobile for a total of 12 years.

His departure comes at a time as the mobile operator seeks to find a new director of marketing, following the recent departure of Phil Chapman. It is not know if he has a job to go to.

T-Mobile is planning to boost it marketing budget this year by 15%, taking its spend to over 115m (MW January 8). Gordon Ballantyne, director of sales and customer service, says it will now be taking a more integrated approach to its marketing activity.
