TalkSport trawls humour’s depths

Something seriously fishy is going on at TalkSport. The station has hooked the Discovery Channel as the first sponsor of its weekend fishing show, A Fisherman’s Blues.

But Kelvin MacKenzie’s outfit is angling for more than a straightforward story. The station claims the deal was negotiated by Jason Trout, sales director of Impact, and Starcom Motive media manager Adrian Pike.

TalkSport’s press release goes on to explain that trailers for the show will be voiced by Gigi Salmon, a news reporter, and the show will be flagged up in the James Whale Show.

They almost had the Diary hook, line and sinker – but did they really think we were going to take the bait?
