Unibet has appointed TBWALondon its £20m pan-European advertising account after a two-way pitch against WAVV Rapp Collins. It is understood that Ogilvy Advertising and Euro RSCG London were knocked out at an earlier stage.

The agency will now develop advertising, direct marketing and digital work that will  be primarily used across mainland Europe. The pitch was handled by the AAR.

The Swedish brand has a less significant presence in the UK than it does in mainland Europe. It is expected to advertise more in the UK following the relaxation of advertising regulations for gambling companies after the introduction of the Gambling Act 2005 on 1 September this year.

Unibet, which was founded ten years ago, is one of Europe’s largest online operators with more than 1.7 million customers.
