TBWA/London wins 10m Eon and Powergen account…
Eon, the energy company that owns Powergen, has appointed TBWA/London to its 10m creative account.
Eon, the energy company that owns Powergen, has appointed TBWA/London to its £10m creative account.
TBWA/London takes the account from Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R, which has held the business since 2003. The agency will create advertising for both Eon and Powergen. Eon director of brand strategy and communications Helen Merrick says: "We have had great success in building the Powergen brand and recognise the contribution of Rainey Kelly.
"With Eon’s sponsorship of The FA Cup we now have the opportunity to raise the profile of Powergen’s parent company – the UK’s largest integrated power and gas company – and we are looking forward to working with TBWA/London to achieve this."
It has been widely accepted that the FA Sponsorship is part of the process that will see the Powergen brand ditched in favour of the parent company’s branding.
In a separate move, Powergen has extended the sponsorship of the ITV Weather bulletins, which is now in its 18th year.
