Teaming up for good credibility
The Rugby Football Union’s decision to launch a major advertising campaign is notable and overdue (MW July 29).
However, the need to restore credibility among the public, clubs and potential sponsors is even more critical because of the appalling in-fighting of the past three years.
One massive step forward would be to get the professional clubs and the RFU working together over the structure of domestic and international rugby. Then the RFU will be in a much stronger position to take the TV exposure forward when the current contracts expire.
