The new Tesco Facebook page brings together Tesco’s existing Facebook pages and will act as the focal point for Tesco’s online relationships with customers.

Tesco plans to offer Facebook fans exclusive offers and promotions and uses the Facebook pages to interact with customers and answer customer service enquiries.

The supermarket launched the page at the end of February and it also includes a dedicated page for Clubcard.

The supermarket already had official Facebook pages for a number of its divisions such as beauty, clothing, greener thinking, pets, mobile and Tesco diets.

A Tesco spokeswoman says: “Customers want to know what Tesco is offering on a massive range of topics – from our role in the community through to Clubcard offers. We’ve created this site to bring together all the Tesco online communities – such as Real Food, Clubcard and Race for Life – and to make it easier for customers to talk to us about what interests them.’

Tesco is also using the page to build its relationship with its charity of the year, Alzheimer’s Society and its long-term charity partner Cancer Research Race for Life.
