Texas move forces exit of senior trio
Texas Homecare, the DIY chain that was acquired by Sainsbury in January, is losing three marketing executives.
Texas advertising controller Bob Cross, customer services manager Michael Dark and market research manager Maureen Mitchell will leave the company in December.
The Texas chain is being integrated into Sainsbury’s Homebase, and the marketing function is moving to the Homebase head office.
The exit of the three follows the departure of Texas marketing director Peggy Cornwell, who was made redundant from her 75,000 a year job in May (MW May 19).
It is understood that Homebase offered jobs to the three executives, but they refused because they did not wish to relocate from the Texas head office in Northampton to the Homebase headquarters in Wallington, Surrey. However, Homebase would not confirm this.
The company says it is seeking new staff for its marketing department, which is being headed by Andrew Molle.
Sainsbury acquired Texas in January, and has consolidated the advertising for Texas into its agency Abbott Mead Vickers.BBDO.
