The Bridge scoops GMG Scottish rock task

helen%20dickinson%20GMGGuardian Media Group (GMG) Radio has appointed Scottish agency The Bridge to handle advertising for its new classic rock station, 96.3 Rock Radio.

The Bridge won the account after a four-way pitch against several other, unnamed agencies. The review was overseen by GMG marketing manager Helen Dickinson.

The new station, which was previously known as Q96 FM, will relaunch in January with a reach of 800,000 listeners across Paisley and Renfrewshire. It will target 35- to 64-year-olds and will play a portfolio of classic rock artists such as Led Zeppelin, Simple Minds and The Who.

GMG, which also owns the Real Radio and Smooth FM brands, recently agreed with Ofcom that it could co-house Q96 in its existing Glasgow station, and thus outside the officially designated Q96 broadcast area, provided it developed a local station format.
