The Ingram Partnership has been appointed to handle global strategic communications for the final film in George Lucas’ Star Wars saga. The film, which was revealed at the weekend as Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of The Sith, will be released in May next year.

It will be the last of the three “prequels” to the original Star Wars trilogy that began in 1977. The film, made by LucasFilms, will be distributed by Twentieth Century Fox.

Specialist media neutral agency Unity handled communications for two previous Star Wars films (MW May 17, 2001). The agency was bought by media entrepreneur Chris Ingram last year to help establish The Ingram Partnership (MW July 31, 2003). However, The Ingram Partnership was not automatically handed the business by LucasFilms and had to pitch for the work.

The agency will develop creative, media, promotional and public relations strategies for Revenge of The Sith.
