The Royal Mail appoints sales and marketing directors

The Royal Mail has appointed a raft of sales and marketing directors. Paul Clifton takes that position in the Transport and Logistics unit, while Colin Beesley takes the role for International Mail. Parcelforce Worldwide has appointed Tim Brown as its top marketer and commercial director Chris Kalla-Bishop is considering his options.


Tesco’s sales rise by 4.8 per cent

Tesco’s like-for-like sales rose by 4.8 per cent for the seven weeks to January 4 in the UK, according to its latest trading statement. Group wide, the supermarket chain recorded sales growth of 11.1 per cent.

Boots appoints Ann Francke

Boots has appointed Ann Francke as director of strategic marketing and development. Francke, former European vice-president of petcare marketing at Masterfoods, replaces Barry Clare, who is to leave the company at the end of January.
