The Sun names interim marketer
Director of marketing for The Sun and News of the World Allan Maccaskill has resigned and his responsibilities are to be taken up in the short term by former BBC marketer Kathy McAllister.
The changes have been confirmed and Maccaskill’s departure comes after only three months in the role. He took up responsibilities previously handled by Roland Agambar.
Agambar left to join Associated Newspapers as chief marketing officer at the same time that former Sainsbury’s marketer Jeremy Schwartz was appointed CMO at News International.

McAllister is a former head of marketing at the BBC where she worked on channel brands such as Radio Five Live. She has been acting as a consultant for News international.
Maccaskill is to return to Scotland where he was originally based as head of marketing for Scotland and Ireland for News Group Newspapers. It is not clear if he has a job to go to.
The Sun has just posted a drop in average net circulation of 3.6% to 2.957 million for April on the previous month and is down 2.71% for the period November to April 2009 year-on-year. News of the World fell 2.66% in April to 2,936,239.
