The Sun sponsors underdog against Man Utd

The Sun is to sponsor Crawley Town FC in the David V Goliath FA Cup match against Manchester United on Saturday (19 February).

The match, to be played at Old Trafford, is to be shown live on ITV1.

The Sun will sponsor the front of non-league side Crawley Town’s shirts for the match along with their training kits and the team bus. The paper will feature exclusive interviews and pictures with the squad before and after the game.

The Sun will also sponsor the team’s match shorts for the remainder of the season in a deal struck before their fourth round win over Torquay earlier in the year.

FA Cup sponsor E.ON has is also partnering with The Sun for the event and for every minute of the match that Crawley Town hold Manchester United at bay, E.ON will donate £200 to Sun-backed charity Help for Heroes.

If Crawley earn a draw or even win, E.ON will make a donation of £18,000 to the charity. If United score within the first half, a minimum donation of £10,000 will be made.

Alamo International is the usual sponsor of Crawley Town and the company name will be moved from the front to the back of the special shirts being released for the match.
